“Do I have to exercise?”
“Yes, you should if you want to feel
better quicker and prevent pain,“ your Minster
chiropractic encourages.
“How long do I
have to exercise every day?”
“Not long, just effectively,” Minster Chiropractic Center
advises.
Exercise is not every Minster back pain or neck
pain patient’s ‘cup of tea’. Minster Chiropractic Center understands.
Exercise is also so vital to our back and neck pain
patient’s recovery and future prevention of the pain. We are with our Minster
chiropractic patients all along the way to make
the most of the exercise effort so that it pays off in pain relief and prevention.
OPTIMAL NECK PAIN EXERCISE GUIDES
Neck pain sufferers realize how pain
may decrease their ability to look around
comfortably. Such neck pain patients were tested for
their cervical range of motion and pain intensity with a flexion-rotation test.
They were then directed to do a 20-minutes cervical spine
exercise session. 50% of them were then also
treated with manual therapy applied to the C0-C1 and C2-C3 cervical spine
levels. Those who performed the exercise program and received
manual therapy managed significantly
better in terms of range of motion, pain intensity reduction,
and the flexion-rotation test. (1) Another study found
that the optimal stretching time of cervical muscles in patients with chronic
myofascial pain syndrome was 30 seconds as contrasted with 15
or 60 seconds or no stretching. This allowed the most
benefit to pain intensity reduction while diminishing
any negative effects on neural function of the affected
nerve roots and central nervous system. (2) Minster Chiropractic Center always stresses
that the proper exercise done in proper form does not have to take long to be useful!
Plus, exercise lays some control in the
hands of its sufferer since exercise can be performed anytime.
OPTIMAL LOW BACK PAIN EXERCISE GUIDES
Incorporating exercise training into the
multidisciplinary treatment of non-specific chronic low back pain does make
sense. This type of back pain involves so many
people around the world and is a leading
cause of disability. Proper exercise training transitions the back
pain patient to self-management. Recently, researchers proposed
that pain intensity and disability - and even mental health issues
in such back pain patients - were improved with options
like resistance and aerobic exercise while Pilates, resistance exercise, yoga,
and stabilization exercise. (3) Minster Chiropractic Center agrees! Exercise is invaluable
in so many ways.
